I got a dodgy call from this number about 15 months ago, claiming to be from the AMEX Fraud department. They had my personal details and even spat out the first four digits of my card. All AMEX cards in Oz start with the same four numbers! I rang AMEX using the number on my statement, and guess what? They confirmed that the …8298 number was a scam! They even asked if I had handed over any other info, which I absolutely did not do!
A caller claiming to be from American Express regarding a fraud issue contacted me. They had some personal information about me. When I expressed my desire to verify their identity by calling back, they became rude. Then I called back the number on the back of my card, and they confirmed no one has called me.
I received a call at 4:30 AM, which I found quite annoying. I hung up but they called back. When I answered, the caller identified herself as “Roman" and asked for someone who isn't here. It feels suspicious to receive calls at this hour!
I received a voicemail from someone claiming to be from "Amex," asking me to call back. I contacted the official Amex number on my card instead and found that this call was not from them. I suspect it was a scam.
This number is legitimate. I had a prior issue with my American Express card and reached out to their customer service. They returned my call the following day from this number.
The caller claimed to represent American Express and stated they would send me an email with further information. However, I have not received any email from them.
A caller claiming to be from American Express regarding a fraud issue contacted me. They had some personal information about me. When I expressed my desire to verify their identity by calling back, they became rude. I then contacted the official number on the back of my AmEx card and confirmed that their fraud department had never reached out to me.
Return call from Amex.
I received calls that appear to be returning from American Express (AMEX) support regarding previous inquiries I made.
I received a call from someone asking to speak to an individual who does not work at our company. The caller did not provide any further information.
