Calling from call centre broken english but kept asking for my name.
Indian guy called me from this number and had the wrong name. Told me my phone had been hacked and used for money laundering and child exploitation, and he was helping me stop the scammers. Said he was from the Cyber security department of the Australian government. I asked for a number and said I would check, he encouraged this, the number given was 1300 292 371 which came up with a cyber.gov. Au result in Google but did not look legitimate. He asked me to click it, but I refused.
When I said I thought he was a scammer he hung up.
I was suspicious but answered anyway. After a noticeable delay a female accented voice came on, and I just hung up. No voicemail.
I received a scam call from 02 9099 6512 with a recorded message claiming to be from the Health Department, stating there were issues with my medical card.
I didn't answer they left a voicemail saying that $1000 had been used to buy gift cards and to ring them to stop the payment to contact them I checked my bank nothing has come out.
