Received similar phone message (recorded), sounded dodgy so rang ATO and asked if it was a scam and they were no help at all!, had to find this site to get confirmation.
Got a call from this number to saying they are ATO office in Canberra with some complains about some tax avoidance scheme I am involved in.
Call them and they hung up and never call back.
This number is a scam!!!!!!! It has been reported to the ATO, But if you recieve a call you should also report them. He claims they have 9 business numbers, so be careful!

Am receiving this call on my office number at A Lawyers Office. This is only one of a few calling me and threatening arrest warrant etc (similar to other posts). I must be on a database somewhere as getting at least 3 per week on my answering machine. Same info when call answered even when Im telling them I AM THE LAWYER!!! A recorded Message from an Indian with an english accent, talks about do not call register, then waffles on incoherently about bullshit, then something about warrant for arrest and tax evasion and to call my solicitor and then to call this number.

The last call I received was from 02 8103 7470. The same recorded robotic voice told me about incorrect tax filings that I just received from this number.

Had a missed call on my mobile when I came out of the bathroom, since I am looking for a job, I rang it back. I identified myself and the bloke on the end of the phone was doing some paper shuffling. When confirming my name, he hung up on me. Not going to ring back.
This is the "hot line number" given for scam callers purporting to be from the ATO regarding imminent arrest for tax evasion!
This morning recieved two recorded messages from this number mentioning the do not call register and suggesting it is the ATO calling, advises that legal notices have been sent and returned due to non delivery and that a warrant for arrest has been made out we were advised to ring this number. Not sure what the scam is.
This phone number was given as a link for the Australian taxation office and acknowledges it is on a do not call register. It states that we have been audited for tax avoidance and to avoid prosecution and or arrest we should contact this number.
