A notable user incident from 28 January 2016 illustrates this scenario, where the individual responded to a claim that official letters had been sent via registered post, which they allegedly ignored, prompting a conversation that suggested tax avoidance. As a general precaution, services like Reverseau allow individuals to conduct a Reverse Phone Lookup Australia which can help in identifying the source of mysterious calls. However, remember to stay vigilant—if a call strikes you as odd or overly aggressive, trust your instincts and treat it as potentially harmful. If you're wondering who called me Australia, reaching out to reliable platforms can provide clarity and peace of mind.

Said was calling on behalf of DPP about matters with ATO. When I asked why I have not received a letter he said that letters sent to me registered post have not been answered. Then said ATO takes this as a sign you may be avoiding action about tax fraud. At that stage I farewelled him very nicely :) or maybe not so nicely. Have reported to SCAMWATCH.

About This Report

This page is part of the Reverseau Scam Intelligence Database, a community-driven dataset maintained by Reverseau since 2014. The database documents caller behaviour across Australian phone numbers based on first-hand user experiences.

Each entry is generated when individuals who received calls or messages from a number submit a report through our review form. Reports include a caller safety rating (1–5 scale) and a written account of the interaction. All submissions are moderated before publication.

The safety rating shown on this page reflects the collective assessment of (02) 9098 4484 by real users. It measures perceived caller risk, not the quality of this page. A low rating indicates that reporters consider this number likely to be associated with scam or spam activity.
