Received the following in a text message claiming to be from Google,
"G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297"
Obviously a scam.
Scam text purporting to be from Google.
Yep got the text "G-XXXXXX is your Google verification code to connect a new device in Madrid, Spain. If you did not authorize this, call us immediately".. scumbags.
Scam number, don't call back.
Absolute scam, don't call or respond to.
Received this Scam message today. It looked legitimate as had similar message to the "Google" number that sends code code verifications.
"G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297"
Called back and guy said he was a Brit living in Los Angeles, despite me having called a NSW landline number. Gave me a fake employee ID number and then he slipped up by saying that he could investigate someone trying to hack my Gmail account using an iPhone 7. As soon as I asked him how he knew that, the phone went dead. Quite a convincing scam up til then. Though when you think about it who sets up a call centre in an expensive place like LA! Even Google aren’t that rich. 🤣
Received this Scam message today 2.35 pm AEST - it looked legitimate in the same messages as the "Google" number that sends code code verifications.
"G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297"
So dodgy.
Text received claiming to be Google. Also appeared in text list under “Google”. Suggesting a new device trying to connect and came with this phone number to contact.
As with others, scam suggesting an attempt to connect a new device in Thailand, appearing in the same list as legit messages from Google. This ought not to be possible if everyone was doing their jobs properly.
Got a text from Google with a Google verification code for a new device in Thailand and to ring the number. Scary thing was it came in my messages, under Google, alongside all of my genuine Google verification codes.
Same. Received a message impersonating Google '.... Is your code to connect you to a new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297'
Sent a text claiming to be from Google. Definitely scam.
Google scam.
Received a text from Google "G-971203 is your verification code to connect new device in Tokyo, Japan. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297"

Same, I also received text: G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297.
Received message: G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297. Obvious phishing and Google impersonation scam.
Received this text: G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297.
I have also just received a text message saying "G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297"
Recieved a text message saying "G-971201 is your code to connect new device in Thailand. Wasn't you? Contact +61287894297". The message is fradulent and tries to get me to call the number. Might call it for a lark to waste their time.
Mate, I've been getting these Google verification codes from Japan and Thailand, telling me to ring if it ain’t me. Tried the 02 number, and it connects to some bloke, but the 1800 number just says it’s cancelled. Seems fishy to me!
Just got a dodgy text claiming to be from "Google," saying I've got a code for some device in Thailand. Seriously? If it wasn’t me, why on Earth would I call that number? Talk about a scam!
Scammer called and left a message from 02 8789 4297:
David Hall calling you from the Coyton cup support team.
Called pretending to be my bank for an o vious scam to get card details. Just don't answer.
