I've received 8 calls from this number since November last year, with 6 of these calls being in the last month. I answered once and got no response. Really really frustrating.
Same here, I got the message from this number. It is definitely a scam phone number. Should it be reported to police? Let police to investigate this!
Total scam - as per the others. My first was an automated voicemail but today was a proper phone call saying I had an ATO refund for $980 and something (untrue), couldn't confirm a single detail other than my first name (which is strange that they knew that much). He then proceeded to tell me I had a nice voice and asked my age, could we be friends on Facebook, 'I can make you money' - not even kidding. Wish there was more we could do about this, I have only started recieving these phone calls since being referred to the ATO debt collection company (a small outstanding amount which missed the due date). Does not feel like my information is safe at all.
They left me an automated voice message to say "if you don't want the police at your door steps call back to this number". There was no answer to this phone number when I called back.
Same here, he had quite a strong accent and couldn't understand what he was saying, police within 48hrs, wasn't sure which year I was at fault for my declaration (gave a few 2012.2011 (even before I actually arrived in australia).2016 etc.. Pick the one you want I guess), would be fined 4000$, at that point I told him, is that the same as the centerlink scam!?
These ATO scammers are at it again, can't believe our government isn't shutting them down straight away and kicking their door in. We have all this technology and when I bought it to the attention of the ATO I had to answer a whole bunch of useless questions and it was like I was the person doing something wrong, so the hell with reporting it to the authorities. We can do a better job ourselves and save some Taxpayers money.
Give these guys a call on 02 8416 8032 and make sure you ask for Martin, guaranteed they will hang up and block your number, I guess they got sick of me calling all day yesterday, and asking for Martin, he was the original guy from a couple of months ago and they know that or they wouldn't hang up. Spread the word ATO recordered message asking you to call the above number is a SCAM.
Oh and if anyone gets Martin on the phone tell him I said Hello. lol.
Same as above. Some scamming numpties claiming the cops are on their way.
3rd time I've gotten this call 'from the ATO' telling me I need to have my lawyer call or the police will show up at my house. SCAM!
Robo Call claiming that they are from the ATO and police will appear at my place of work or home(!).
