Received numerous calls from these guys where they left message to call urgently back by a automated recorded message. I did try calling back, and call wouldn't go through. Did not sound legitimate but scared the hell out of my Mum.
This is Scam call!!! I got a call on my landline saying they are calling from ATO. They mentioned that ATO has applied charges against me in violation to taxes. I will have to pay $4000 immediately to them as they have seized my bank accounts and drivers licence. I knew this is something inappropriate... Do not provide any personal info to these guys and play safe. I have reported this scam to ATO and request you to do so.
SCAM- Gave me a speel about being from the ATO, didn't use my first name, Threaten that the cops will be around within the hour with a warrant. Asked if I had any questions and I said no I will ring my accountant, and he then hang up on me!
SCAM - Received numerous urgent msgs from 'tax dept' to return call. Returned call. Got read a legit sounding script Threatened police action for unpaid tax bill. Wanted tax file number, address etc. Said to wait at home for police. Have since verified with Tax Dept that this is a SCAM.
How do they get a Sydney number? Creepy voice message left in slow pseudo-American accent. Allegedly "Australian Taxation Office.".
Must be stopped.
These guys have got their voice over Ip number from Symbios network in Sydney, we may have to raise an alert to this company to block this number being used for illegal purposes...

Hi people. I was just scammed $5000 from this number. I am an intelligent business woman who is always sceptical of these criminals and I absolutely for suckered in.
DO NOT fall for it. They will make up a very legitimate story that will make you believe it's all true. Be AWARE!!!!
A friend of mine has just been scammed by this number. Indian sounding man answered phone number with 'Thank you to calling the ATO". Wrong grammar, & ATO will always answer the phone with Australian Tax Office, not ATO.

I'm on phone now to them and they have asked for $5000 and I have done it!!!! Is this seriously fraud???
FRAUD: Supposed 'Taxation Office caller' message asking you to call them IMMEDIATELY, or your attorney to call. Indian/American accent. Scam.
