This number called my biz, asked me to confirm our address, which is public, so I naively went along. Then they asked about a former director, who hasn't been with us for ages. I pointed them to our website, and they just hung up! Definitely raises my red flags.

Got a call earlier from this number. Some bloke with a skinny Indian accent was asking if my business was still at a certain address – rattling it off like he knew me! They claim to be updating their 'public database of Aussie businesses.' I asked for their details, and he said he was from IncNet. Checked them out, and turns out they're linked to Database Consultants Australia. Just feels a bit off to me!

Received call from a woman with a Chinese accent, wanting to know if “X” was still a Director of this company. Very shonky. Lots of call centre noise in background.

A woman called - sounded like she was from China - asking about a director from the company. Heard chatter in the background and, being an 02 8**** number, I had a feeling it was dodgy. Said no to her first question, and yes that someone used to be a director ages ago. She kept talking but I didn’t want to stick around.

Just had the same as others are saying, in NZ. Asked to speak to me by name, after I said yes speaking, he thanked me for answering the phone, wished me a good day and hung up.

This number called me all the way in NZL and wanted to know if it was me speaking (they knew my name). This number came up as potential fraud!

This just happened to me too. I feel they are confirming if they have the correct information to attempt to sell it to scammers or something. Very fishy.

Called and male with Indian accent asked "may I confirm this is XXX (my name)", I said yes, what is this regarding? And they hung up.

I received a call on my New Zealand mobile number where the caller referred to me by my full name and asked if they were speaking to me. When I inquired who they were and the purpose of the call, they abruptly disconnected, and I couldn't call the number back.

This is the second time Rose has called from a very crackly connection asking to confirm our business address and the names of the people who work here.
