This number's been flagged as potential spam, so I've chucked it on the block list! :)
Do not answer this number. The caller claimed to represent the Department of Immigration and urged me to listen to a prompt in Chinese. I have blocked this number due to its suspicious nature.
Generally distrust numbers that ring at 8 pm but wanted to be certain before reporting it.
Caller hung up as soon as I answered and when I called back they didn't answer. Don't know many people from NSW and anyone who would ring me at 8 pm would leave a message so almost certainly a scam to try and identify active phone numbers.
Why this number calling me? It's scam?
Scam. Block straight away.
The same here. I never give out my number over the net or to anyone I don't trust. The Asian lady who called was obviously reading off a script, almost sounding like a robot, except I know she wasn't AI. She told me first they phone was free and babbled on. I asked again how much and then the story changed. When she got to the part asking for my name and address I hung up. These spammers are trying every trick in the book to access our bank accounts.
I received a call from this number, but when I answered, the caller immediately hung up without saying anything.
I did not answer the call from this number, and they did not leave a voicemail. I believe this may be a scam, especially since I have never shared my phone number with anyone.
The caller used very casual and informal language while trying to sell me a phone at a 50% discount, which felt suspicious and unprofessional.
Thank you for the helpful advice! I received two missed calls from this number, and I was unsure whether or not to call back. After considering it, I’ve decided that I will not call back.
Scam - 'I work for a phone company, you've been selected to win a smart phone'
Scam.. Also NSW numbers don't begin with 8 - they always begin with 9. Get these calls at 5 pm from various number combinations every day because I made the mistake of answering the call once. I just block the number each time.
A spam number. What makes me wonder is, where on earth did they get my mobile number from?? I'm not on social media at all and my moblie number is a relatively new number to me.
Scam - your phone number has been selected to receive a brand new phone from our company.
Spam.
Scam caller - very hard acccent to understand and could not make out company he said he represented, notwithstanding asking three times. Best I could decipher was the Hung Fung Company???
Scam call.
The caller identified themselves as being from a smartphone company and claimed to be located in Sydney.
