Scam Caller.
Haha funny that the other comments saying the same thing! Woman with strong accent saying from Telstra but I’m not using Telstra services. Then she said the IP is Telstra and she hung up. And I was confused and come up search here.
I received a call claiming to be from Telstra, saying they regretted to inform me about an issue, and then they abruptly hung up. I am not a Telstra customer, so I believe this call was definitely a scam.
Exactly the same thing happened to me “Victoria Cover” from Telstra wanting access to my systems. These people are scum. If you steal 10 dollars from the shop you get prosecuted - if you steal 100000 from someone’s life savings no one gives a rats. Time for more policing effort to be put to this problem.
Just picked up a phone call from this number. They claimed to be Telstra saying our IP address was compromised and wanted me to Google search our IP address to check it with them. The lady got increasingly frustrated with me playing ‘dumb’ and kept asking what search engine I was using after telling me she would not ask for any information from me. She asked if there was anyone else home, to which I responded that the majority of the country is at work at 11 am on a Thursday morning. When I asked her for the number for Telstra so I could check the information she was giving me they gave me a different number than the number for Telstra saying the call would come back through to them anyway. I refused to give any information to which she said she cannot help me switch our IP address from public to private unless I did what she was telling me to do. SCAM!!!!!
This was a scam call. The person claimed to be from Telstra and wanted to check my IP address. They were extremely rude during the conversation.
I did not answer the initial call from this number. Afterward, I called back using a withheld number and found it was related to a web design service. I have since blocked this number.
