I suspect this is a scam call. The caller claimed to be from Telstra, and I highly recommend not answering calls from this number.
Tax fraud scam... I called the ATO and they lodged a scam report.
Got a call from 0267111623 and a month ago from 0280730594 both left messages on answering machine.
Both threatening legal action if I do not call back.
Obvious scams.
Did not call back.
Also just received a voicemail from this number stating the same thing (tax evasion/fraud). Same guy with south american accent.
I also received this phone message ("case # 594982... You are facing criminal prosecution for tax evasion, contact public prosecutors office at this number ...etc") by a male with a north American accent.
It is obviously bogus and a scam, I am not responding to the request for phone back, instead I will report the number and incident to police authorities, and suggest others do the same.
Received a called from this number said that I would be facing criminal charges and should contact them immediately. It is a scam. I did not fall back and will be taking this to the police as I recorded the voicemail they left. The person talking is to be of an "American" accent however the accent changes. This is someone impersonating to try to convince you are in the wrong do not be fooled.
Crank caller. Said was from ATO and that I was going to be charged for fraudulent activity. Then when I questioned and wanted callers ID details I was abused and sworn at.
