I suggest reporting this to ATO. Might help them catch the bastards! I won't lie, I kind of knew it was a scam but it still scared me. If it were an elderly person, I'd think they'd be more vulnerable.
100% a scam! I spoke with the real ATO and reported this number. They also advised me it was lost definitely a scam and the ATO don't call or warrant any arrests.
I had some automated voicemail re jail term and tax debt. Tried to call back rang out. Seems like a scam for sure.

Yes, same nature claiming to be a Sergeant Marks based in ATO office of Martin place Sydney and requesting my personal TFN. I advised I was would call the police and advise this number be investigated.
I got a call from this number and when I rang back he said it was the Australian Taxation office and did I receive a computerised call. Sounded a bit short tempered like he has had a few calls back.
Did nothing about it and hung up cause I was in the car. The ATO don't have my number so it must be a scam.
Just received the same computerized message as most other people have, Called back but there was no answer. Judging by everyone else feedback, and the fact that my taxes are being paid every month and I have not done me tax return as of yet, its all a scam.
People might feel upset by the thought of a warrant, ignore and block it.
Voice message start informing me for my obligations towards taxation and the consciences as arresting me ect.

Automated call from this number advising that my tax account has been closed as I have been avoiding paying tax! Called the number back & it was answered as it being the tax department!
I got an automated call from this number and a womans voice says there is a warrant for my arrest.
