I have never given out my landline number because I don't even know what it is without calling say, my mobile to make it show up, and my answering machine message is a Fax Tone to deter future calls, so whoever owns this number has obviously called it via a random dialer, so feel safe in not answering it.
I spoke with a woman who had a strong accent. She asked for me by name and claimed to be from a travel company regarding a discount coupon I supposedly filled out. I politely informed her that I never completed any coupons and told her she was a scammer before hanging up. I have reported and blocked this number.
Rang at 10 pm at night. Said they were from DC Escape. They had woken me so I challenged them and hung up.
Scam caller..
Like others here, I received a call stating I had won a free holiday. When I asked for details, the caller gave vague responses about entering a competition without specifying which one or when it took place. When she mentioned needing a non-refundable deposit to hold my prize, I became very skeptical and informed her I would be reporting the phone number to Scamwatch. She promptly hung up after that.
Based on several reports and my experience, this caller is obviously a scammer. They asked if I remembered filling out coupons for a travel company. When I said "no," the caller quickly tried to justify this by saying it was a long time ago. The call took place at 8:25 PM Queensland time, and I firmly told him I wouldn't be tricked and hung up.
This number consistently calls after 9 PM, and this is the second occurrence I've experienced. I appreciate those who reported it because it seems to be another scam number targeting individuals.
I received a call at 9:45 PM, expecting an important issue, but it turned out to be a supposed travel company asking if I had filled out a coupon for a holiday. I explained to them that I have a disability and cannot travel, which made the call feel irrelevant.
I experienced the typical delay when answering a call from a call center, and the caller hung up before I could hear anyone speaking.
I received a call on my landline from an unknown number, which I did not recognize and chose not to answer. Other reports indicate that this number is likely associated with a scam.
This caller has the same profile as the one mentioned by LPG in a comment on November 11, 2022. They ended the call abruptly after I expressed no interest in a vacation deal, reinforcing my suspicion of them being a scammer.
They called did not know the number so let it go to answering service and they hung up.
I received a call from a woman with a possible Philippine accent who asked about discount vouchers I supposedly filled out. I have never done any such thing, yet she claimed that many had been filled out by my family. This seems very dubious.
The caller hung up promptly after I answered. It seemed to be another scam attempt.
The caller informed me that I have qualified for a discounted overseas holiday, stating I only need to pay taxes and port charges. When I playfully asked if they were the 'tooth fairy,' the caller quickly hung up.
When I answered the call, there was a noticeable delay. The caller claimed to be from "Giotravel" and informed me that I had won a discounted travel package for Europe. After asking him to remove my number from their list, he abruptly hung up the call.
Had 8 calls in 30 minutes from this number. All Indian type accents.6 male 2 female. Tried to block. Reported to Telstra. Said I had filled in a coupon at the supermarket and I now was a winner of week long stay at a resort (provided I paid $340) Told them where to go. Blew whistle into phone. Later in evening got 3 calls from same number exactly one hour apart. Next day around 1.30 pm 2 more calls.
I let this call go unanswered because I do not respond to suspicious calls, especially since the number is flagged on my device.
Normal nonsense - scam call who advised I was the luckiest guy and the only one selected for incredible savings on travel and accommodation. Claimed he was from some BS company called TL Travel based in Lavington NSW - just another pathetic low life scum bag looking to prey and extort money from innocent hard working Aussies - would love to see these parasites contract every incurable disease known to mankind - rant over.... In short just hang up on these drop kicks.
Scammer, saying I had won a holiday. Hung up when I told them that I had checked the number and found it had been used for scams. No stars.
Another hang up call.
As soon as I answered they hung up...
SCAMMERS, VERY RUDE.
The guys called us regarding some internet connection problems. All BS.
Hang up no talking or background noise. I’m thinking the number is potentially spoofed by scammers.
I had acal today form this number from a woman calling herself Junnifer Joseph FIPH001 from Mastercard saying that two attempts had been made early this morning (Amazon $300 and eBay $264). She said she would connect me to Commbank where I spoke to Peter Williamson from their Security Dept. It didn't ring true, but was very slick. I said that I would call Commbank through their switchboard, when he started threatening that if my account was debited it would be my fault - very thinly disguised threats. I reported this to Cammbank Fraud service.
This call was from overseas, and the caller hung up as soon as I challenged their intentions. This seems very suspicious to me.
This number seems to be typical of a scammer. They did not leave a voicemail and actually hung up partway through my outgoing message.
A no talk, hang up call.
