Same as all the comments above - Tax scam.
Since Monday 24/02/2020 I received a call from my Mobile from this number 02 61008616 and when I answered there's nobody at the other end of the line. So I presumed its a 'SCAMMER', or an 'IDIOT" who doesn't have anything to do .
So today I've blocked that number.
Scam. Recorded message claiming tax file marked 'lean', failure to return paperwork, warrant out for arrest if I fail to return the phone call.
"Australia Tax Department" scam call.
Recorded message, american accent. Claims to be from ATO. Refers to unpaid or unsigned tax documents and claims arrest warrant issued. Says to call number back.
Clear SCAM. Do not respond to this call.
I have gotten 2 calls from this number, both times they left a voicemail about tax file papers or something, I didn't really understand, and then said id be arrested or executed if I didn't pay them my tax.
Some clown with a foreign accent claiming he's from the ATO based in Canberra trying to give me a case number and he needs my address to send files to my attorney. Seriously. Very obvious after the first two seconds this was not legitimate and it probably was not worth engaging in conversation with him however I asked to be put through to his line manager and then he hung up.
Multiple calls - not answered. When you call back it says this number is temp out of service.
