This call was regarding a supposed PayPal receipt for a Norton subscription. They urged me to call them back within 24 hours to receive a refund. It was clearly a scam, so I did not answer and deleted the number immediately.
Exactly the same happened to me now (22/09/23 11:14 am).
The email looks like a scam, but there is no link in it. I'm not sure what the intention of this scam is.
Received an email with an attachment, supposedly for transaction between Norton and PayPal for an order for Norton 360 Deluxe, A$348.98. This is not only much higher than the actual price, but I never placed the order, which was apparently made 2 days earlier. In fact, I haven't made any transaction via PayPal in 2023. The attachment gave this phone number to call if I believed the transaction was incorrect. I did not call the number.
An email was sent to me from an unknown individual named Eric Riley, which included a photo of a PayPal receipt for the renewal of a Norton antivirus license. The email asks me to call this number (xxxx8394) if I do not authorize the payment in order to obtain a refund.
I received a suspicious email from a Gmail address regarding a PayPal notification for Norton renewal. It instructed me to call this number to cancel a subscription that I never had, raising my concerns about its legitimacy.
