A man with an Indian accent answered when I called back and answered as “the Australian taxation office”. He asked for my name and I was hesitant, so he was even more hesitant to get my details. I hung up. It didn’t sound authentic. Definately a dodgy call.

Hi there,

I just received a scam call from this number pretending to be from the ATO Audit Office.

When I warned the operator that I knew this was a scam he very calmly reported that he's been doing this for 5 years and no one can do anything to touch their operation.

Please take this seriously and block this number. A lot of vulnerable people get scammed out of a lot of money.
