I was also being called by 0261005353. The phone number belongs to a company called something like 'Brands Austchoice'.

They must source at least some of their numbers from various 'voluntary marketing' sources such as pop up congrats, you have won.. ' links, ie: the ones that pop up on various webpages that say you've won x prize.

I was caught out in the same manner, before I realised what was going on and tried to clear my form entry before finishing it, however not before the software used somehow recorded my phone number.

The telemarketer I spoke to today said they have a 'Do Not Call' list and that they can put people on if requested, so if you or someone you know.

Are being called by a telemarketing company, just ask them nicely to enter your phone number on the 'Do Not Call' database list, which they have to do by law.

You may need to repeat the request a few times though if you have entered your contact details thru one of these prize claim forms; the calls may not stop straight away. The numbers are often sold to different companies, collected by whatever company operates that particular popup 'you have won...' ad. Oh, and educate yer kids on avoiding the slimy little buggers. ;-).

Oh, & don't mad, get even.. Save the number to your phone and report them to your friendly telecommunications ombudsman. Heh heh.
