I’ve never used Coinbase (don’t even know what Coinbase does)

Received the same text message as others have shared here.

Nearly fell for their scam but fortunately looked up their number here AND asked Coinbase live chat whilst I was on the phone with them. Thanks everyone!

They'll say people have attempted to login your account from overseas, tell you they'll look into this for you and closely monitor for the next 48 hours, but in the meantime please create a wallet (with the 12th recovery word provided by them) to transfer your coins off the exchange to your Coinbase wallet for security purposes instead of your hardware wallet - this way you'll be "100% insured" by Coinbase if any coins are stolen.

Seemed pretty sophisticated at first, but upon reflection, lots of gaps if you maintain calm and think logically.

Text message from "Coinbase". It's fake and a scam. Coinbase does not send these messages.

Message reads as follows:

Your withdrawal code is ##insert number here##.
