Scam.
This must be one of those VOIP numbers-for-hire that scammers apparently have no trouble hiring. At an early moment during our conversation, the Indian-accented bloke from "Amazon" asked, "Is this Mr <my actual surname>?" I replied "No?" with a puzzled intonation. He then just continued with his script as if it didn't matter whom he was speaking to, so I said, "Hang on... Whom are you supposed to be speaking to?", at which point he gave up and hung up... And that was the only sign of intelligence that he showed during our short exchange.
Amazon scam.
I received a call from a lady who had a heavy accent. She was inquiring about whether I had filled out a certain form, but I couldn't understand her due to the unclear explanation. I have since blocked the number.
I had received a call from a scammer using a number very similar to this one earlier, but I blocked that number.
Pretended to be from Bendigo Fraud department.
I received a voicemail that was completely in what sounded like Chinese. The call immediately went into my spam filter, indicating it could be a fraudulent call.
