The voicemail left by this number stated, "Dear user, your mobile phone number will be suspended today. If you have any questions, please press 1 for English service or press 2 for Chinese service."
Definitely a scam call. Did not answer as unrecognised number. They left a message saying they were calling about an academic emergency notice. If you are Australian nationality press 1. If you are Chinese or international student to press 2.
Scam don't answer.
Scam.
👍 I found this comment helpful; it clarified my experience with similar calls.
(02) 5135 2544 is a SCAM CALL.
Got an automated voice telling me my number will be deactivated in 2 hours.
I received a message stating, "For Australian nationality, press 1. If you are Chinese or an international student, press 2. This is an epidemic emergency notice."
The caller was speaking about a China student program, which sounds like a scam. I felt it was not credible based on their presentation.
Chinese scammer.
My advice is to simply decline any calls from unknown numbers. There are a lot of scammers out there using various numbers. I received two calls from New South Wales and one from Victoria recently, all of which were suspicious.
