So many spam calls.
I consistently receive calls from variations of this number every day, sometimes twice, such as 02 5133 52XX where the last two digits keep changing. I have submitted a complaint to the 'Do Not Call Register' due to the harassment from these calls.
I've been receiving multiple calls from the number 02 5133 52 _ _ (with different last two digits each time). I haven't answered any of these calls, as they appear to be from the Australian Capital Territory, and I'm concerned about their legitimacy.
I received calls from +6125133240 and numbers 234, 242, 235, 243, claiming to conduct a kindness survey. The caller was hard to understand and very apologetic about calling at 7 am for the fourth consecutive day. They seemed to seek personal information about me, but I always disguise my voice to protect my privacy.
After a long pause and a loud overseas clicking sound, the caller identified themselves as representing charities in Australia. I suspect they are using a hacked number from the ACT. I've decided to block this number, as phone companies like Telstra have been ineffective at stopping these scams, with such calls increasing daily.
My mobile displayed that the call was originating from City, Australian Capital Territory. This seemed questionable to me since it should say Canberra, ACT. I recommend not answering calls from this number.
“I received a call from this number, but I didn't answer right away. When I eventually picked up, there was silence on the line and no message left afterward. It seemed suspicious.”
I have received a total of 7 calls from the phone number (02) 5133 5240, which has also used variations ending in 42, 39, 36, 35, and 37. These calls often come with a silent pause before disconnecting, which is frustrating. It feels like they are pests, and I wonder if any action can be taken against them. I have chosen to simply hang up on them.
I'm really frustrated with these scam callers. I removed my last name from my voicemail years ago in hopes of preventing scams. I also don’t use my last name on social media and haven’t been listed in the phone book for a long time. I’m curious how these scammers obtain our numbers—possibly through random dialing.
Repeated calls without messages: I received calls from this unknown number on multiple occasions: Friday, July 14th, and then again on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. None of these calls left a message. This behavior is suspicious and may indicate a scammer.
The caller addressed me by name and intended to conduct a survey about community attitudes. However, it became apparent that the questions were leading towards encouraging me to donate to a charity. I asked her not to waste my time and hung up. I have received numerous missed calls with no messages from similar numbers over the past few weeks, and now I realize they are tarnishing the reputation of legitimate charities.
Phoned at 925 am on Tuesday - no message left. Woke me up and blocked.
Same here.
Didn't recognise number, didn't answer, no message left. Anybody else getting calls from this number?
I did not recognize the number and chose not to answer the call. They also didn't leave a message. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced calls from this number.
I'm fairly certain this is a scam. I chose not to answer numerous calls from similar numbers that I eventually blocked. However, I decided to answer this particular call out of curiosity. The caller knew my name and address and claimed to be conducting a survey for something called the Kindness Project. When they asked for more personal details, I felt uncomfortable and hung up.
I've received seven calls from the number 02 5133 52. It’s always the same number calling. No message is ever left, and when I try to return the call, I only get a busy signal. This repeated calling is a frustrating waste of time for everyone involved.
