The number called my mobile twice today and no one answered. SCAM.

Scam

Obvious scammer. Any time a number calls that you don't recognise or aren't expecting, if you answer it, don't say anything. If it's genuinely a human, they will say something (people can't stand silent pauses). If it's a robo-dialler, if you don't say anything for a few seconds, it hangs up and moves on to the next target.

Called me 16th Dec.12:12 pm AUEST... A short silence before recorded 'Siri' voice 'from AMAZON', advises your Credit Card is going to be debited $199/299/399 for some random purchase - hilarious considering I haven't had a CC in years! I hung up after 21secs as I already knew about the 'Amazon Debit Scam'. You should report these calls to the Bank or Institution - I have to AMAZON before, they have a Coverts center following up reports.

I got a call from this number followed by an SMS message that took a full minute to start speaking. The message claimed that I have $299 being withdrawn from my account, which raised alarms for me since I do not use eBay. This seems like a scam.

About This Report

This page is part of the Reverseau Scam Intelligence Database, a community-driven dataset maintained by Reverseau since 2014. The database documents caller behaviour across Australian phone numbers based on first-hand user experiences.

Each entry is generated when individuals who received calls or messages from a number submit a report through our review form. Reports include a caller safety rating (1–5 scale) and a written account of the interaction. All submissions are moderated before publication.

The safety rating shown on this page reflects the collective assessment of (02) 5016 2515 by real users. It measures perceived caller risk, not the quality of this page. A low rating indicates that reporters consider this number likely to be associated with scam or spam activity.
