0248539297 identified as a Bowral NSW number, called my mobile and left a recorded voice saying that $299 would be deducted from my account unless I cancelled the order?? (What order? I made none.) I called the number back and a heavily Indian accented voice answered saying something that could not understand. I apologised and asked them to repeat what they said. Still I could not understand and again, asked for them to repeat. They hung up. I called back after a 10 minute pause and got message ‘Optus advises that the mobile?? You have called has been disconnected. The scammers are hacking local numbers temporarily to get you to give them your card details and id info. I guess asking questions got them thinking I was not an easy mark so they gave up.
