What Our Users Reviewed
I got a call from someone claiming to be from NBN discussing slow internet speeds. There was a long delay in their responses, and I could hear a lot of background noise. I've had several similar calls from someone named "Alex" from different 02 numbers, making this seem like a waste of time.
Today, I received calls from five scammers and one legitimate research call. Unfortunately, my blocked callers list is full, so I had to let these calls ring out. It looks like I'll be busy tonight making room to block these persistent nuisances.
This call was a scam posing as an NBN service. They aimed to waste my time by asking for bogus information. Their real goal is to direct you to a website they provide, which could install a virus on your device. This allows them to access your computer, capture sensitive information like your internet banking passwords, and potentially drain your bank account. It is crucial to NEVER click any links they send you.
Our household is currently recovering from COVID, and we’re finding it extremely frustrating to receive annoying unsolicited calls at this time. When we answer, the callers often just hang up. These calls are a nuisance and definitely unsolicited. I believe they should be addressed seriously, as they are quite bothersome.
I got a call from an unknown number, and they did not leave a message. It was frustrating, so I’m not inclined to respond to them.
I received a call from someone asking me to check my internet speed, claiming my area was being upgraded. It sounded like a scam to me, so I told her I couldn't check because I was busy on the phone with her. She hung up, and while I didn't get any useful information, I did manage to waste some of her time! If I need help, I'll contact NBN directly to ensure I'm speaking to someone legitimate.
The caller did not leave a message, so I assumed it was not important. I have since blocked this number.

About This Report
This page is part of the Reverseau Scam Intelligence Database, a community-driven dataset maintained by Reverseau since 2014. The database documents caller behaviour across Australian phone numbers based on first-hand user experiences.
Each entry is generated when individuals who received calls or messages from a number submit a report through our review form. Reports include a caller safety rating (1–5 scale) and a written account of the interaction. All submissions are moderated before publication.
The safety rating shown on this page reflects the collective assessment of (02) 4601 1920 by real users. It measures perceived caller risk, not the quality of this page. A low rating indicates that reporters consider this number likely to be associated with scam or spam activity.
