My screen identified the caller as "Klara New South Wales." When I answered, I heard an automated American voice message stating, "Hello, this is an emergency epidemic notice." I found it alarming and promptly hung up.

I received a call from this number but chose not to answer it. They left a voicemail, which I later checked and it was in Chinese. Based on similar reports from others, I suspect this call is a scam.
The caller ID displayed "Optus," but my phone flagged this number as a known scam.
I believe this call was a scam. I didn’t answer, and the call went to my voicemail. The message started in Chinese and then switched to English, falsely stating that my Vodafone number was about to be shut down.
Scam - left a voicemail by a robotic message stating epidemic notice warning and to press a number based on nationality.
Thanks to other reviewers. Also blocked the number per suspicion it was spam given the recent uptick in 300+ searches for this number in the last month.
Thanks to the first person I blocked this call - cheers.
This was clearly a scam call. I did not answer, but it went to voicemail where an automated message repeatedly played, saying, "Hello, epidemic emergency notice," and prompted pressing numbers for language options.

I received a call from a scammer stating there was an urgent academic emergency, supposedly for Australia. They asked me to press one or various numbers for information in Chinese, which is highly suspicious.
