I have been receiving a lot of suspect calls recently, and after guessing this was another scam, I’ve decided not to answer any unknown numbers anymore.
Warning in English and Chinese: Your phone will be disconnected in two hours, press 1 to find out why. Block that scammer!
I received a recorded voice message claiming to be from the government, stating there are anomalies related to my passport. This seems suspicious and concerning.
Location: Binda, New South Wales.
Answering will have an automated message saying your phone service will be disconnected in two hours. To find out why, press 1 for English and press 2 for Chinese. Then a dial tone. Then a person will do their spiel.
Obviously a scam call. Do not fall for it. Do not even say anything. Immediately block and report if you can.
I received a scam call from a number in Binda, NSW on March 5, 2024. I advise not answering calls from this number.
Called and left a voicemail in Chinese - definitely a scam. Number blocked.
