Telstra Technical Department - AGAIN!. Managed to keep the young woman on the line for 7 minutes by convincing her I was a little old lady who knew nothing about IT. After an inane conversation to establish I knew what a mobile phone was (she even asked if my phone had a keypad with numbers on it and if I used it for texts), she generously offered to protect me from scammers because 'you are old and don't understand about networks'. I'm afraid I couldn't hold in the laughter any longer, told her she was rude and that the time she'd wasted treating me like an idiot had been spent my end tracing her IP address and forwarding it to the authorities. I think I may have ruined her day!

A caller identified himself as being from Telstra and warned me that scammers were trying to access our internet to steal passwords. He offered to assist with our security, but I declined and hung up the phone.
