Uncovering the Mystery Behind 07 3087 7970

When you receive a call from an unfamiliar number, it's natural to feel a bit wary. Such is the case with 07 3087 7970, which has been reported by multiple users as a suspicious telemarketer. While the callers claim to represent legitimate organisations, the reviews suggest that there's more to this number than meets the eye.

Is It Really a Telemarketer?

The first report, dated 25 May 2016, describes a call purported to be a survey related to the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) in Queensland. However, the caller identified themselves as part of GARTNER research, a company based in the US. This mismatch arouses suspicion, especially since the individual on the line could not verify their claim. The caller ended the conversation rather abruptly when pressed for more information, indicating a lack of credibility.

Another user reported a call at 8pm on a Friday night, claiming to conduct a survey on behalf of Energex, the local electricity supplier. When asked to be removed from the call list, the responder insisted removal wasn't an option for 'safety reasons.' This refusal, combined with the late-hour calling, raises further concerns about the legitimacy of such operations.

What Type of Call is This?

Given the inconsistencies in the identity of the caller and the nature of the interactions, we classify 07 3087 7970 as a suspicious telemarketer that may attempt to elicit personal information or promote irrelevant services. With users expressing clear discomfort about the nature of the calls, it's prudent to approach such contacts with caution.

How to Handle Calls from 07 3087 7970

  • Do Not Engage: If you receive a call from this number, avoid providing any personal information.
  • Hang Up: Feel free to terminate the call if you're uncomfortable or suspect it might be a scam.
  • Report It: Document the call and report it to a local consumer protection agency or the telecommunications authority in your area.
  • Cross-Check: Use services like Reverseau for a reverse phone lookup to ascertain the caller's identity.

Final Thoughts

In a digital age where contact numbers can be manipulated, it's vital to remain vigilant. Although 07 3087 7970 / 0730877970 may initially seem like a legitimate number, user experiences suggest it may not be the case. Stay informed and protect yourself from potential telemarketing pitfalls.

Called at 8pm on a Friday night claiming to be from energex conducting a survey. I asked to be removed from the call list and he said he couldn’t do that as it’s a safety thing as they are responsible for supplying electricity.

Very late evening call 24/5/2016 -purported to be a survey on DTMR (QLD Government department) - I am on the DO NOT CALL register, and have only been on it for around 3 months. There is no way they would have my number on any list. They told me they were from GARTNER research, which is a US company?? I have found that this number may actually be linked to "Enhanced Research" based in Brisbane, Australia. This is NOT the company the male who phoned me identified. I would say this is a SCAM. I asked him how I could identify where he was from - how could I trust him. He ended the call.
