What Our Users Reviewed
Yep got the same thing today.
I received a message starting with 'Hey Mumm' from a number that seemed suspicious. They didn't know my child's name despite me having five children, which confirmed they were scammers. They asked me to contact them through WhatsApp. I strongly advise ignoring this number and blocking it. Please do not send any money to them.
I previously reported this number as well as an associated text number, both of which are different mobile numbers than the one I am reporting now. It seems these scammers are cleverly trying to trick people into believing a family member is in trouble. I feel that phone companies are not doing enough to stop these fraudulent activities.
I got a suspicious text message that appears to be from someone pretending to be my child, saying their phone is broken and asking me to message them on WhatsApp using this new temporary number.
I got a suspicious text that read: "Hey Mumm/Dadd, my other phone crashed. But this is my temporary phone number. Can you message me on Whatsapp when you've seen this? Thank You! Xx." I believe this is from spammers.
