I received a call from someone introducing themselves as calling from Levitate, but I was confused because I had no recollection of speaking to them before about any services related to earning extra income. I said I wasn't interested and promptly hung up and blocked the number.

Why are people and organisations allowed to be given a mobile number or landline number without having to verify who they are? Identification should be compulsory before anyone can be given a Phone number or email.
