The phone number 0485 816 687 has garnered attention from several users who have reported their experiences. Based on these reviews, it appears that this number is linked to telemarketing activities, but it also raises questions about potential scams.
While some users described the calls as a simple survey about superannuation, the manner in which the questions were asked sparked concern. On multiple occasions, callers identified themselves as representatives conducting surveys for companies that, upon investigation, could not be found or verified online.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the findings:
- Common Experience: Users reported receiving calls that often went unanswered, with the number ringing once before hanging up. When the calls were answered, they generally consisted of questions related to the individual's finances and demographics.
- Identified as Spam: Several reviews described the calls as spam or telemarketing, particularly when the questions pushed beyond simple survey responses and invaded personal privacy, such as asking for annual income and specific location details.
- Unstable Verification: The callers were unable to provide clear details regarding the company they represented or the purpose of the survey, raising a red flag. One user noted the strange coincidence of the caller having the same name as themselves, which added to the suspicions.
- Repeated Calls: Users reported multiple calls from this number without any messages left, indicating persistent contact attempts typical of telemarketing practices.
Overall, while the initial intent may have been to conduct market research, the inconsistencies in the information provided and aggressive questioning tactics lead to a classification that leans towards being a suspicious telemarketer—possibly even a scam attempt.
To handle calls from 0485 816 687, it is advisable to:
- Stay Cautious: If you receive a call from this number, avoid disclosing personal information.
- Block the Number: If you find the calls intrusive or concerning, consider blocking the number promptly.

The number called me once but did not leave a voicemail message.
This number called me several times but didn’t leave a voicemail. I decided to block it due to the persistent calls without any message.
This number called me twice. When I called back, it turned out to be a telemarketer promoting a superannuation fund.
Possibly a scam caller, initially didn't respond and then hung up after few hellos. Female voice on the other side.
Female caller with a slight accent, stated she was calling to do a survey on superannuation for a company called Iplus (or similar) and just had 5 quick questions which started with my age. When I asked why she was doing the survey she repeatedly said it was just a 'quick survey on super'. When I asked her WHY iplus were doing this and WHO the information would be provided to, she could not answer the question and reverted back to "It's just a survey on super". I asked multiple times, but she could not provide an explanation and kept trying to ask me questions. I asked to speak with her manager, but she stated she was calling from home. (Note here that it also sounded like a call centre in the background). When I asked her name, she provided a name which happened to be the same as my own. She had no employee number she could provide to identify her. When I asked her to spell the name of the company, she was calling from she hung up. I have since googled 'Iplus' and 'superannuation survey' and have NO hits. I have since called the number several times and it has been answered but hung up straight away.
My phone identified this call as a spam or telemarketer, so I have blocked the number to prevent future calls.
The caller said it's a survey for superfunds, just 5 quick questions.
After 5 quick questions which sounded legit to me she went on to ask if my annual income was over $50K, and then if I was in NSW now and today. I said I didn't want to disclose where I currently was but she pushed for an answer so I hung up.
They called me once but did not leave a message. I have now blocked the number.
