An individual claiming to be named Christine Wilson called me, stating that she was calling regarding an issue with my internet connection and that my IP address had been compromised. She provided a Telstra ID number, 18487. I chose to end the call before she could say anything further.
This was one of those automated calls meant to verify whether my phone number is active. I answered, but there was about 10 seconds of silence before the call abruptly ended.
Received a call fom this number 12.15 pm cdst 6/2/2023. Caller claimed to be from Telstra enquiring about internet access. When I sought details about callers full name and office telephone number told me to get f*ked and terminated call. Caller had a strong indian accent. Reported to do not call register. A scammer. beware.
This call is very likely a scam. The caller didn’t leave a message and tends to call me at the same time each day, which raises suspicion.
