SCAMMER ALERT - I was contacted in early October 2023 from this number online on Gumtree responding to my 'wanted add'. Thought this was a genuine person having the item I wanted to purchase, I paid the deposit to get the item freighted to me and after a few days went by, then the BS excuses commenced and then I realized the item was never going to be forwarded. I requested a refund of my deposit all the promises were made to refund me it never happened. Now getting Scamwatch, NSW Police and any scamming hotline including Gumtree involved. The Scammer went by the name of "Murphy Law" and the account name was L. Kate with a CBA bank account Martin Place, Sydney. Still ongoing after a couple of weeks hopefully the a... Hole will be found and dealt with.

Sounded genuine but as soon as I deposited the initial deposit to get the item moving the BS excuses started wher it got to a point they couldn't send it and then offered to refund my money... It has go to the point now where I have involved the bank, the NSW police and the AFP sam hotline.. Person went by the name ' Henry' but account number for the deposit was someone by the name of 'L.Kate' with a CBA account from main bank Martin Place in Sydney... Still ongoing, dunno if I will see my deposit again though.. Hopefully the dirtbag will be taken down..

I wanted to share my recent experience with a potential scam. I was scammed after purchasing an item on Gumtree; after I completed the payment, the seller stopped responding completely. Please be cautious and avoid this situation at all costs.
SCAMMER ALERT! They responded to a wanting to buy ad that I’d posted on Gumtree. They would only text me, and wouldn’t answer calls. Supplied me a second photo of what I was wanting to buy, but it was clear that it was a completely different model to the first photo supplied (what a fool). Called this person out for being a scammer by text, and they didn’t deny it at all.
This caller is a scammer operating on Gumtree, posing as someone selling an item related to my wanted ad. They only communicated via text and refused to take my calls. Additionally, they sent me a photo of the item that appeared to be sourced from Google images. I strongly advise avoiding this number to prevent potential financial loss.
