This is a message from the Social Research Centre on behalf of the Cancer Institute NSW. In the coming days, we will call to see if you can take part in an important health study. Reply '1' if you live in NSW or ACT. Reply '2' if you do NOT live in NSW or ACT. Reply '3' to Opt Out.
I received an SMS regarding research supposedly conducted on behalf of the Cancer Institute. However, after checking the legitimate website of the Social Research Centre, there is no mention of any current projects related to the Cancer Institute. I plan to email them for verification, but I suspect this is a scam.
Replied 3 without thinking and am now getting ads.

The caller presented themselves as being from the Cancer Institute of NSW, with a specific focus on reaching out to smokers. I informed them that I am a non-smoker, after which the conversation concluded. They appeared to be legitimate.
