0426 313 106 has been reported as a suspicious number making claims about Vodafone network upgrades. This article analyses user experiences and offers guidance on how to handle uncertain calls from this number.

In the modern age of telecommunications, not every ring is from a trusted source. The mobile number 0426 313 106 has surfaced with alarming frequency in user reports, often linked to dubious sales calls masquerading as legitimate business inquiries from Vodafone regarding network upgrades.

Multiple reports indicate that most interactions with this number involve individuals purporting to be from Vodafone, claiming to inform customers about upgrades to their service. The catch? These calls commonly request personal details that one would expect secure businesses to avoid asking for, such as your PIN or device information. For instance, one user noted that the caller even knew the names of family members, raising further suspicion.

The tone of these interactions has been consistently described as intensive and pushy, featuring background noise that suggests a busy call centre—another hallmark of telemarketing scams. Users have reported that the voices often have strong Indian accents, which has led some recipients to feel the calls are potentially fraudulent.

Particular emphasis should be placed on the fact that if Vodafone were making contact regarding network changes, they would not typically utilise a mobile number nor ask for sensitive personal information over the phone. Legitimate representatives would use official channels and verified numbers.

Nevertheless, a minority of reports suggest that some users have called Vodafone directly and found out that their interactions with this number eventually proved beneficial, such as receiving a new phone. This split outcome can make it challenging to categorise 0426 313 106 as definitively one thing or another. It raises the question: could this be a legitimate call amidst a larger wave of suspicious activity?

Considering the numerous negative reports and a few cautiously optimistic findings, it's wise to classify this number as suspicious. To handle calls from 0426 313 106, consider the following:

  • Do Not Engage: If you receive a call and feel uneasy, it's best to hang up immediately.
  • No Personal Information: Never disclose personal or sensitive information to unknown callers.
  • Verification: If warranted, contact Vodafone directly using known contact numbers to verify if the call was authentic.
  • Block the Number: If the calls persist, blocking the number may be necessary for your peace of mind.

I got one of these calls too & didn't give them any info thinking it was a scam. I called Vodafone direct though, and they told me it was legit & put me back through to them. Free phone on the way.

GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER TODAY 20/10/2015 ABOUT UPGRADING THE QUEENSLAND NETWORKS (I LIVE IN VIC)- ASKED FOR PIN DIDN'T GIVE IT, THEY NEW MY WIFES NAME AND ASKED FOR AN ADDRESS TO SEND THE NEW PHONE - I GAVE MY WORKS ADDRESS - DIDN'T REALLY SWAP ANY DETAILS, I ASKED HIM WHY THE CALL WAS FROM A MOBILE AND HE SAID IT IS THE AUTOMATED NUMBER THAT COMES UP FROM THE CALL SERVER THEY USE OR SOME CRAP LIKE THAT.

HE THEN SAID HE WOULD SEND IT TO MY WORK AND IT WILL ARRIVE IN 8 DAYS - I WILL LET YOU KNOW IF ANYTHING HAPPENS.

0426313106 called me on Fri 11/09 9:49am, Mon 14/09 2:26pm, Tue 15/09 9:30am, & today, Wed 16/09 at 9:19am & 1:24pm. I don't usually answer unfamiliar numbers, & they've never left a voicemail. Twice in a day is gettin' ridiculous, so I've just blocked the number. See if they start leavin' voicemail messages now!! ;-) My account is vodafone pre-paid, & I'm 45 from the Sunshine Coast. After reading the other 4 comments I agree; it sounds like a scam, & I'm glad I never answered their calls...

Just got this call. Knew my name and wanted to know my brand of phone etc. I hung up. Definitely a busy call center--heaps of noise in the background--not a genuine call from vodafone. If it is real you do not hear all the other callers. Hang up and ignore them.

My partner got a call from this number today, Indian sounding female saying same thing about Qld upgrades and that his touch phone will no longer work on so-called new system and can buy a phone for $39 that will work. She asked for his pin number which he didn't give. I wonder if they will phone me, I have a slide top older style phone. I feel its a scam also.

Same experience. Claimed they were upgrading the Vodafone network but wanted to get lots of details about my current handset and the numbers etc.

The women I spoke to also seemed to be of Indian origin and only mentioned that the call may be recorded for quality purposes when I queried her credentials. Perhaps I am too cynical but it seemed like a scan.

Got 2 missed calls from this number today and when I called it back was an automated message saying it's Vodafone trying to call about network changes and I can return the call on 1300 720 717. The same number tried to call my partners phone and it was some Indian guy trying to sell him something. Definitely seems like a scam! Plus Vodafone would never call from a mobile!
