When it comes to managing unsolicited phone calls, 0422 285 390 / 0422285390 has surfaced in the reports of several Australians. User feedback indicates that this number often operates like a telemarketer, leading to a mix of confusion and frustration among recipients.
Several experiences suggest that the calls can appear harmless at first but soon reveal more questionable tactics. For instance, in one case, the caller greeted the recipient by name—an approach that might make the interaction seem personal. However, it soon pivoted to a sales pitch regarding solar panel maintenance, despite the recipient having already indicated they have no such service. This kind of approach is typical of telemarketers who aim to upsell services based on assumed information, often leading the recipient to mistakenly engage in an unwanted conversation.
Another report highlighted an unusual circumstance wherein the caller left a voicemail intended for someone who wasn’t even associated with the number receiving the call. This reflects a further layer of impersonation and confusion, which is not uncommon in telemarketing practices. Users are advised to be skeptical of such calls, especially when they reference past inquiries that the recipient did not make.

The caller claimed to be following up on an enquiry that I never initiated. He mentioned having a massive contact list of 16 million numbers that he reaches out to occasionally. I did not provide my name during the conversation and decided to end the call and block the number. When I attempted to call back from a different phone, I received a recorded message stating, "the number you have called is not available, please leave a brief message."
I found this report very helpful. The caller left a voicemail intended for my ex-husband, who has never had my phone number or this phone. I chose not to return the call.
The caller greeted me by name, which made me respond, "Yes," as I was expecting a different call. They then began discussing solar panel maintenance, to which I again responded "Yes" when asked if I already had solar panels. After this, the caller concluded the conversation and hung up. I regret answering, as now I realize that it was likely a scam.
Same as the other person. This number called me back to back, inside of 30 seconds; so I thought it was a friend trying to reach me. I called the number back, and nobody answered.
I had called this number last few weeks, last time was yesterday afternoon. I did not know this number, so I did not answer. But I left messaged.
I want to know this scam or what?
