Keep an Eye Out for 0420 460 177 / 0420460177 - A Known Scammer

The phone number 0420 460 177 / 0420460177 has raised significant concerns among Australian mobile users, predominantly for sending deceptive sweepstake promotion messages. Reports indicate that individuals receiving unsolicited messages from this number are being informed that they've "won" a sweepstake, a claim that is nothing but a ruse to fish for personal information or trick recipients into revealing sensitive data.

Sending Spam Messages

Many users who have reported receiving messages from 0420 460 177 / 0420460177 describe receiving text notifications stating that they have been randomly selected as winners. These messages typically include instructions directing recipients to contact an email address (info@sweepstakespromo.cc) to claim their so-called prize. Given that these claims often arrive at odd hours, such as 2:32am, it raises further flags about the legitimacy of the outreach.

Understanding the Scam

The pattern becomes more troubling, with descriptions aligning closely with a sweepstake scam. This type of fraud usually works by luring victims into providing additional personal details in hopes of claiming a non-existent prize. Some reviews specifically mention that recipients’ numbers seemed to be primarily from Vodafones, suggesting that there may be targeted efforts based on the service provider.
