Hi, a couple of days ago I missed a call from this number. I recalled the number and was told that "they" had received a call from my mobile number and that the caller was from the ATO and they were making demands. The person I spoke with sounded very sincere and told me that my number had been used and somehow stolen. I tried for several days to reach Telstra, but their automated system of working out where you need to be transferred to kept hanging up on me. Frustrated, I messaged Telstra and over a two day period, got nowhere and they were not able to understand what I was trying to explain. They understood that I was receiving the scam call, and not that my number was being used as the scam caller without my knowledge. I called our local Telstra centre and the lady there mentioned that although they may sound lovely and genuine, they are in fact the scammers. The person I spoke to said he was from Palm Beach, was really friendly and obviously I fell for his ploy. Didn't give him any personal information thank goodness. I have since blocked this mobile number. This is what Telstra Centre advised. I am shocked that I almost fell for this one. Good luck everyone and stay safe.
