The phone number 0410 758 474 / 0410758474 has garnered considerable attention due to multiple user reports classifying it as a scam, specifically a phishing attempt related to Commbank accounts. When dealing with unknown numbers, it's essential to remain vigilant and informed, especially in the case of sensitive financial matters.

User Reports Analysis

Based on user feedback, the texts allegedly originating from this number contain messages indicating that accounts with Commbank have been “suspended” or “locked.” These messages typically ask the recipient to log in using a provided link, often leading to fake websites designed to harvest personal information. Key indicators of the fraudulent nature of these messages include:

  • Urgent prompts to click on links or enter sensitive information.
  • Misspellings within the message, such as "verivication," revealing unprofessional intent.
  • Messages sent outside of standard business hours, making it trickier to verify their authenticity with the bank.

Types of Scam

This instance fits the pattern of a phishing scam where fraudsters impersonate legitimate institutions — in this case, Commbank — to deceive individuals into disclosing personal and financial details. It's a despicable tactic frequently employed by scammers to exploit unsuspecting victims.

This is a scam - I received a text message asking me to log into Commbank to verify my account because it had been locked.

They spelt verification wrong - "verivication". Idiots.

Scam.

Got message saying comm bank was locked and to put in my client number, password and email.

I put in ALL BOGUS NUMBERS, and it then said further information and direction has been sent to my email.

The other links and tabs on message, they didn't work when I clicked on them either.

This message is also sent OUTSIDE OF BUSINESS HOurs, therefore it's harder to call bank and verify... SCAM.

Such a scam.
