I received WhatsApp messages from someone pretending to be my daughter, claiming her phone was broken. The messages were very convincing with good English, and they requested money to be transferred to a Bendigo Bank account. They followed up with another message from a different number, 0485 837 007, saying they had a new number and asking for help.
A scammer contacted me via WhatsApp, impersonating my daughter who claimed she broke her phone. They were surprisingly convincing and answered my questions, but they asked me to transfer money into two separate accounts, which felt very dodgy, specifically Westpac and ANZ.
0402729115 I was scammed out of thousands from these creeps. Pretending to be my daughter who broke her phone and this was her new number. Asked me to make osko payments to help her out. Sadly I fell for it. Now in the hands of the bank and police.
I received a call from this number that was identical to another call I received earlier from the number 0481 613 852. I'm concerned about the legitimacy of these calls.
