This morning (4.10.2024) at 10.09 am, I received a call from a landline, No. (03) 9005 8430. The caller said, "Am I speaking to (my name)?" I said,"No." He said, "I am from (bank name)." I said, "No, you're not." He said, "You live at (my address)." I shouted, "Stop being a f*king scammer." He said, "I know where you live. I will come for you at night and I will kill you in your sleep." I laughed at him and said, "Now I know you're a f*king scammer!" He hung up. I have received more phone calls from scammers than I care to count but this one unnerved me because the call originated from a landline; he knew my name (and even pronounced it correctly - most don't); he knew my address and the name of the bank I used. I suspect these details are being passed on by online retailers. When he made the threat about killing me in my sleep, someone in the background said something which I took to be a warning not to say such a thing. I hope this information helps someone.
