I received a call regarding an outstanding bill related to an ambulance ride I took back in July. While I have ambulance cover, the caller mentioned that my new address hadn’t been updated in their system. This was puzzling since I updated my address as soon as I moved in May. They mentioned that they would send an email to retrieve my membership ID, but I haven't received anything. I later tried to call Ambulance Victoria, but the number they used is not the same as theirs.
The caller asked for the accounts payable person by name and mentioned they would send an email to explain their request, but I never received anything from them. The caller introduced himself as John.
This number called me but did not leave any message. After some research, I found out that it belongs to debt collectors.
It's extremely discourteous for callers not to leave a message, particularly during business hours. Many of us cannot take personal calls while at work, which makes this behavior frustrating.
