The "customer service" person asked a lot of very intrusive questions about my travel plans which seemed to me beyond what was required to verify that the amount I was transferring overseas was legit. I can't see what purpose (betond the fact that it was to a legit UK travel company) the funds were being transferred for was of any concern to the "customer service" person. Why did they need to know - in excruciating detail - what the funds covered (accommodation type, mode of ransport, food, beverages, etc).
I appreciate that banks are extra careful with the sophistication of scammers but there needs to be a better way customers can identify that the phone number we are asked to call back is in fact a legit phone number.
