This number is definitely a scam. I've received 4 missed calls from them and confirmed with DHS Victoria that they do not recognize this number as legitimate. I urge everyone not to provide personal information to anyone calling from this number!

The caller informed me that I am eligible for the fourth COVID vaccine shot. Unlike many other calls, this one did not appear to be a scam.

The caller hung up as soon as I answered. Instead of calling for the next vaccine slot, I think it's more effective to send a text. It's frustrating to receive these calls.

I received a call from this number today, but I chose not to answer. They did not leave a voicemail or any message, leaving me uncertain about the purpose of their call.

This phone number is legitimate and belongs to the Department of Health. They had previously sent me a message indicating that I should prepare for a call from them. I missed the call but called back and confirmed via an answering machine that it indeed belonged to the health department.

This number is associated with the legitimate Department of Health. However, it appears that some anti-vaccine individuals are mistakenly reporting it as fraudulent. It's important to verify before labeling it a scam.

This number is a scam. Do not call back to confirm anything with them. They used software to disguise their phone number, so it could be anyone.

W

This number called my phone, but I chose not to answer it because I did not recognize the number. No voicemail was left, which suggests that if it were important, they would have left a message for me.

The caller claimed to be from the Department of Human Services (DHS). It's a scam! Please do not give any personal information to this person who spoke with an Indian accent. They seemed to know my last vaccination date, which is suspicious. Just don't answer!

The caller sent a text message to my wife, and 15 minutes later, they texted me as well. When my wife called back, they claimed they would contact her, but when they called me, they stayed silent, which led me to hang up.

Received this message this afternoon.

Hi, please be prepared to receive a call shortly from the Department of Health on +61 3 8634 4051 regarding your COVID-19 vaccination.

Number rang back 5 minutes later one ring and hung up no voicemail message left.

I'm suspecting a scam.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Covid-19 department. They did not know my name and instead asked if this was my phone number. This raised a red flag for me, as legitimate organizations typically have accurate information about the individuals they are contacting.

I got a message this afternoon saying, "Hi, please be prepared to receive a call shortly from the Department of Health on (03) 8634 4051 regarding your COVID-19 vaccination." The same number called back five minutes later, rang only once, and then hung up without leaving a voicemail. I suspect this could be a scam.

This morning I got a text at 9:15a.m. From DH-COVID19 saying:

"Hi, please be prepared to receive a call shortly from the Department of Health on +61 3 8634 4051 regarding your COVID-19 vaccination"

Then at 9:16 a call came through for that number, but it only rang once and they hung up before I could answer.

I had my 3rd jab (booster) a couple of weeks ago. I was able to update the vaccine cert on my phone so it shows the booster - so I know their records are up to date. No idea why they called.

S

I received a call confirming my vaccination information and offering to book my booster appointment. However, when I mentioned I'd do a walk-up instead, the call abruptly ended. Please be cautious with such calls as they might be scams.

I'm concerned about whether our personal information is truly secure. This call came just after I received positive news regarding my results. The caller requested my email address and home address, which I reluctantly provided. However, after reading reports from others, I now fear that spam may start flooding my inbox.

Department of Health calling to confirm I no longer need to quarantine at home - a legit call which I was expecting today after 14-days of quarantining as a close contact of a COVID case.

H
Heidt

Received call from a DHS contact tracer, informing me I am considered a primary close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case and I need to quarantine for 14 days from date of exposure. She accurately provided me with my name, date of birth, and exact date and time I was at the Tier 1 exposure site. A quick Google search showed that location had indeed been closed for cleaning. She asked me for the locations I had been recently and the details of any secondary contacts.

I later followed-up with DHS (1300 651 160) and they confirmed all of the above.

Please do answer the call and cooperate, for the sake of your own health and those of your loved ones - to prevent the spread of COVID!
