I discovered that this number belongs to Telstra, but it appears that Telstra has leased it to scammers for a significant amount of time. The phone companies often rent numbers, which contributes to these persistent scam calls. I believe the federal government needs to take action regarding this issue – I recommend contacting your local representative to express your concerns!
The caller claimed to be from ECT Travel and suggested that I had won a competition. However, I do not recall entering any competition, and I didn’t want to find out more, so I hung up.
