Scam.
Calling to say they're from Telstra and want to access your computer!
The caller, with a heavy accent, informed me he was from Telstra. My IP address on my computer was exposed. My VPN (which is hidden) was also exposed and my calls were now public. Whatever that means.
He rattled on about how I now had to make changes to my computer via his directions. The entire conversation lasted probably a minute, wherein I denied everything he said. He insisted I open my settings to change them.
When I told him he was talking BS and that he was as transparent as a scammer, he insisted I just change my settings. I told him I would be reporting this call and hung up. I've since blocked the number.
This caller was a scammer posing as a representative from Telstra, trying to gain remote control of my computer. I strongly advise blocking this number to avoid potential fraud.
I received a call from someone claiming to be “Telstra” tech support, which I suspect is a scam.
