Similar message left on answering machine - some of it garbled. Male accent Irish or English. Well spoken. Introduces himself as officer Kenneth Matthews of the Australian Tax Office representing the CDPP (?), something like Commonwealth Public Prosecutions headquartering in Canberra ACT. States there is a legal case against my name (but does not state) for tax evasion or tax avoidance, mentions some commonwealth courthouse (?). Says kindly do not disregard this message as this is a time sensitive matter. Me or my retained lawyer to call number 02 8599 6100. Repeats number clearly. Says 'I want you to get back to me immediately'.

Had a message left on answering machine from a Kenneth Matthews who described himself as a Federal Officer from the ATO. Had an American accent, demanded that I return his call immediately as I have been charged with tax evasion and non payment of tax. I simply deleted the message n reached out for the bottle of fine red before me. Better luck next time, Officer Matthews! Please do not be alarmed by this call. It's some jerk's idea of a bad joke. N please do not ring back.
