    This number is associated with scammers who seem to leverage UBS deliveries. They claim that purchases under $1000 incur no import or GST fees and advertise 99.9% pure bullion. I received just one ring from this number, followed by a text message with a biller code. Be aware, as legitimate duty notifications come via direct email, not as a follow-up after a delivery notice.

    I received a call from someone claiming to be from UPS; however, I have never placed any online orders from outside Australia. I believe this is an outright scam.

    I got a call on Saturday regarding an import duty that I supposedly needed to pay, followed by an email. While the email appeared unprofessional and may look like a scam, I have confirmed it is actually legitimate.

    I suspect this could be a scam. I do have a shipment coming via UPS but the value is less than $1000, which means no import duties should be applicable. Additionally, the invoice from my supplier clearly states that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) has already been paid. I'm puzzled about what they're asking me to pay for. After calling UPS using their official number 131 877, I found out that the contact requesting payment of import duty was actually legitimate. However, the way they addressed me as "Dear Client" and their overall communication style was very unprofessional and scam-like, which is unexpected from an international carrier like UPS. This might indicate they are outsourcing their services to offshore call centers.

    After missing a call from this number, I received a text saying I had a voicemail. Shortly afterward, I got another text from a different number (0447 100 266), stating that I have a UPS shipment with a tracking number that incurred an import fee of almost $3,000 AUD, instructing me to make a payment via EFT to a Citibank account. This clearly appears to be a scam, as I typically pay import duties as part of my purchases with UPS.

    The call was from UPS, which I don't believe is a scam. They called and hung up after two rings and later sent me a text message containing their bank details for paying import tax. Although the email address looked suspicious, it was indeed legitimate from an officer at ups.com. I also verified the BPAY number before making the payment, and following that, my parcel that needed custom clearance was released without delay. Their handling of the situation made it appear scam-like, but it turned out to be an authentic UPS transaction.

    I received a call from this number and requested that they send the information via email. The email included all the correct shipping details and appeared to be from UPS. I completed my payment through Bpay without issues, suggesting that this interaction was valid. However, I acknowledge that similar calls could be spoofed in the future, so I remain cautious.

    I noticed a comment below claiming this number is a scam but it is not. It is the United States Postal Service and they were letting me know I needed to pay import fees to clear my package through customs. Which I did and then safely received my package. Hope this helps.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
