What Our Users Reviewed
Had exactly the same call. Rang PayPal and informed their fraud section. We rang back but from the work phone not my mobile which totally confused them. For anyone reading this PayPal will NOT call you about a transaction. She said obviously could not make a million calls a day.
A woman with a thick Asian accent called me with this number saying she was from PayPal and someone was purchasing a $300 eBay gift voucher. She then asked me if I purchased it. When I said no she asked me to put my phone on speaker and go to my home screen.
She said she could cancel the transaction etc etc blah blah blah.
I twigged. She's a scammer.
They get you to go to your home screen and then tell you that in order to fix the problem you need to download an app. NEVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING.
DON'T BELIEVE THEM.!!!
This happened to me first hand with scammers and my bank. I was taken for a fool. Never again!
If there is a problem with your PayPal account, they email you.
Hope this helps someone else.

Scam caller.
I received an automated message that turned into text, stating: "Purchase request for $299.39. The amount will be automatically deducted from your account. If you wish to cancel the order, press one and I will call you back." My phone automatically identified this as a suspected scam.
I didn't answer this call, but they left a voicemail stating, "You have an order for $299.39 that will be automatically debited from your account. If you want to cancel the order, press one or call this number back."
