Got 2 phone calls from this number in about 20mins of 1 another. The first time I said hello and no one responded so I hung up. On the 2nd call a guy said he was from ATO and ring about criminal charges. I told him I was aware of the scam and he hung up on me. Shame really cause I hadn't had a chance to give him a piece of my mind.
Called me twice, the first time asked for me by name and when I asked who was speaking he hung up.
The second time they didn't ask anything and hung up as soon as I said hello.
I rang them back, got a weird noise and they hung up after I said hello.
Told me he was from Canberra.. That area code is Newcastle.. And said it was the taxation dept...mmm.scammers.
Say they are the ATO but I think not - asking for personal details?? Very suspect !!
Called several times and don't say anything. Called back and you get this garbled mass of voices all talking at once.
They ring and don't answer, grrr!
